Privacy Policy
The short version
- What you type is never stored, logged or sent. The keyboard has no network access of its own.
- No accounts, no ads, no third-party SDKs, no tracking. We never sell data.
- Once a day the app can send anonymous per-keycap-material press counts (just numbers). You can turn this off in Settings.
1. Who we are
molli: ASMR Keyboard (“molli”, “the app”) is an iOS keyboard operated by Teknark (“we”, “us”). Questions about this policy: support.molli@teknark.com.
2. What you type
Text you type with molli is never stored, logged or sent anywhere, by us or by anyone else. The keyboard extension has no network access of its own, so it cannot transmit anything. This applies to everything you type, including passwords and messages.
3. Full Access
iOS asks you to allow “Full Access” for keyboards that play sounds or haptics. Full Access is optional. molli uses it only for:
- playing key sounds,
- haptic feedback, and
- reading the app’s own settings. These are shared between the app and the keyboard on your device through an App Group, and never leave your device through the keyboard.
molli does not use Full Access to read, copy or transmit what you type.
4. Clipboard history
Clipboard history is opt-in and off by default. If you turn it on, copied items are held in memory only. They are never saved to storage, never sent anywhere, and are cleared when the keyboard closes. Clipboard history skips password fields.
5. Anonymous usage statistics
molli counts how much each keycap material is used, to learn which keycaps people enjoy and to improve the app. A future update may also show these numbers in the app, on your device and worldwide. To do that:
- What is counted. The keyboard counts how many key presses were made with each keycap material (for example, “Honey: 1,204”). Only counts are kept. We never record which keys were pressed or what text was typed.
- What is sent. Once a day, around local midnight, the app sends only these per-material counts to our server, which runs on Cloudflare Workers and is hosted by Cloudflare. The message contains no device ID, advertising ID, account or name.
- IP addresses. Like any internet request, the request reaches Cloudflare with your IP address. The IP address is used only transiently by Cloudflare to deliver the request and by our server for abuse rate-limiting, where it is hashed with a salt that rotates daily. It is not stored together with the counts.
- Your choice. You can turn sharing off at any time in Settings (“Share anonymous usage stats”). Counts already received are combined into totals and cannot be traced back to you.
6. Purchases
molli Pro purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple (StoreKit). We receive no payment details, name or Apple ID. Apple may share aggregated sales and crash statistics with us through App Store Connect if you have allowed sharing with developers; this information cannot identify you.
7. No tracking
molli shows no ads and contains no third-party SDKs, analytics or tracking. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.
8. Children
molli is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Because molli collects no personal information, there is nothing to collect from anyone; if you believe a child has contacted us, email support.molli@teknark.com and we will delete it.
9. Data retention
Aggregate per-material counts are kept indefinitely. We keep nothing about individual people: no identifiers, no typed text, and no IP addresses alongside the counts. Everything else (your settings, your own counts and clipboard history) stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a regulator. We do not collect personal data that can be linked to you, and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is normally nothing to retrieve or delete on our side. You can stop all sharing in Settings or by deleting the app. If you have a request or question, contact us at support.molli@teknark.com.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above, and for material changes we will say so in the app or on this page before they take effect.
